Ward 17

Don Valley East is a vibrant and diverse community located in the former North York. Robert knows this very well as he is a 23 year resident of our community.

Don Valley East is approximately bordered by Finch Avenue to the North, Victoria Park Avenue to the East, Sunrise Avenue to the South and both Don Mills Road and Leslie Street to the West.

Our Ward is home to many different neighbourhoods including Don Valley Village, The Peanut, Pleasant View, Henry Farm, Parkway Forest, Graydon Hall, Don Mills, Parkwoods and Victoria Village. Each neighbourhood has it’s own characteristics that make it unique.

Prior to development happening in the area during the 1960s and 1970s, the land was primarily used for farmland and many landmarks of our history still remain today.

Don Valley East is a great representation of the diversity that we see every day within our great city. Our riding is home for many new immigrants to Canada from all across the world. Many areas in the ward contain low- to middle-income housing and a variety of housing types are represented within the ward. Some of these types include high-rise apartment and condominium buildings, split level homes, semi-detached homes, row houses and detached houses.

Don Valley East is in a great location to live in Toronto due to it’s proximity to Highways 401, 404 and the Don Valley Parkway. In addition our ward is connected to two subway stops, Don Mills Station and Leslie Station.
